THE ROLE

You’ll be fonio’s in-house SEO Manager. The goal is to rank #1 for every relevant query on Google and in AI search tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity, in DACH and in every other market we enter.

You own strategy and execution. You tell the website team how pages should be built, and you set the direction for keyword research across all markets.

WHAT TO EXPECT

•Own SEO strategy and execution across all our markets.

•Define how pages are built and structured, and work closely with the website and engineering teams on technical SEO.

•Lead keyword research and decide how we win in both classic search and AI-generated answers.

•Write content and commission it from others so we have what we need to rank.

•Manage an SEO budget of €20,000–30,000 per month.

•Work with agencies where it makes sense, while keeping the strategy and know-how in-house with you.

•Scale SEO as fonio grows, and build your own team over the medium term.

WHAT YOU BRING

MUST-HAVES:

•SEO has been your main job, at scale: you’ve owned it full-time and you have results to show. The industry (tech, consumer, anything else) matters less than the scale you’ve worked at.

•International SEO experience: you know how to win in markets beyond your home market.

•Fluent English

NICE-TO-HAVES:

•Strong copywriting skills. SEO people who also write well are rare and valuable.

•Hands-on experience with website tools like Webflow or similar.

WHAT WE OFFER

•Competitive salary: €65,000–85,000
