Job description

We're looking for a Senior Big Data Developer to join our Data Engineering team.

You will be part of our Data Management platform, which is responsible for processing, storing, and serving data for all our core systems.

As a Senior Big Data Developer, you will be encouraged to take a proactive and autonomous approach to research and development while working collaboratively with the team. Our ideal candidate is a fast but thorough problem solver, and a fun person to work with!

What You'll Do:

•Own features end to end, from design to production, including monitoring, data quality and production support.
•Take part in designing and building the next generation of company data products, such as Identity and audience solutions.
•Implement high-scale Big Data solutions and contribute to our platform infrastructure and architecture.
•Leverage AI to accelerate development and operations, and help build AI-driven capabilities into our data platform.
•Lead and mentor other developers through complex projects that impact our core business.
•Research core technologies and integrations with external data providers and services.
•Work with various stakeholders: Product, Engineering, data providers, etc.

What will I bring?

•6+ years of software development experience.
•Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, ETLs, and streaming systems using technologies such as Spark, Kafka and Airflow, over HDFS / S3.
•3+ years of experience in Java or Scala, and hands-on experience with Python.
•Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with Vertica or a similar columnar / MPP database.
•Experience with performance optimization of high-scale systems.
•Experience with large-scale graph processing / graph algorithms (e.g. connected components, community detection) – advantage.
•Experience with Kubernetes – advantage.
•Experience with GitLab and Grafana – advantage.
•Team player, low ego, strong communication skills.
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or an equivalent degree.

A Few Fun Facts About the Team:

•We rebuild our identity graph every week, linking 7.6 billion devices (and growing) into households using signals from identity partners and our own bidstream.
•We work hand-in-hand with Product and Data Science, reviewing every new pipeline design together each week before any production code ships.
•Our team spans the US, Poland, Ukraine, and Israel, which makes on-call easier: someone’s workday almost always covers our pipelines.
