Position Overview
Senior Manager, Technology
Contract Term: One-year fixed-term contract (renewable, up to a maximum total contract period of three years). Opportunity for conversion to a regular full-time employee position based on performance and business needs.
This role is a senior technology leader within the Walt Disney Attractions Japan (WDAJ) Technology & Digital team, serving as a strategic technology lead and trusted liaison to Oriental Land Company (OLC) and Oriental Land Cruise Company (OCC) across both Tokyo Disney Resort and Disney Cruise Line Japan businesses.
Positioned at the intersection of technology strategy, product management, program management, solution delivery, architecture, infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, and operations, this role supports OLC/OCC in shaping high-quality technology-enabled guest and cast experiences. It plays a critical role in bridging Disney Experiences’ global technology ecosystem with OLC/OCC’s locally owned systems and operations, ensuring alignment with Disney standards while respecting OLC/OCC’s ownership model.
This position does not hold final decision-making authority, technology ownership, or delivery accountability. All such responsibilities remain with OLC/OCC’s business and technology leadership. Instead, the role focuses on enabling high-quality technology decisions, clarity, governance, and alignment through broad technical understanding, structured leadership, and strategic advisory.
Core Focus Areas
Guide and influence technology strategy, roadmaps, investment priorities, modernization plans, and trade-offs to support OLC/OCC decision-making.
Connect OLC/OCC efforts with Disney’s global platforms, architecture, engineering, infrastructure standards, and best practices to drive consistency, reuse, security, and operational efficiency.
Act as a key interface between OLC/OCC teams and Disney Experiences stakeholders globally (US, Europe, Asia), ensuring alignment across product, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, data, and operations.
Provide guidance across the full technology lifecycle, including planning, architecture, SDLC, testing, deployment, operational readiness, service transition, and ongoing support.
Promote cybersecurity, resiliency, compliance awareness, operational readiness, and sustainable support models across technology initiatives.
Promote emerging technologies, including AI, cloud services, automation, connected systems, and modern product and engineering practices to strengthen OLC/OCC’s technology capabilities.
Scope
Ideal Candidate
A senior technology leader who excels at:
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a bridge between OLC/OCC Digital, Systems, and Infrastructure teams and Disney global technology organizations, supporting technology strategy, roadmaps, priorities, and decision-making clarity.
Provide guidance on solution architecture, AI-first SDLC, development, testing, release management, operational readiness, and service transition, translating business needs into clear and actionable technology requirements.
Promote Disney technology standards, architecture patterns, cybersecurity principles, platforms, services, and operating practices, while identifying opportunities for alignment, integration, reuse, and consistency with OLC/OCC initiatives.
Identify and communicate dependencies across systems, infrastructure, vendors, and teams, including cybersecurity, resiliency, performance, scalability, maintainability, operational, schedule, and delivery risks.
Support collaboration across product, engineering, architecture, infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, data, operations, and vendor teams, translating complex technology topics into clear communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
Share emerging technology insights and Disney best practices related to AI, cloud, automation, connected systems, and digital platforms, supporting capability building through training, workshops, documentation, and cross-team communication.
Note: This position does not directly own OLC/OCC technology delivery, engineering execution, infrastructure operations, budgets, or final prioritization decisions.
