Job Description
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Dubai, UAE office three times per week or at another frequency dictated by the business.
The Role
The MEO Product Planning Manager shapes GM’s product portfolio for the Middle East and, as needed, Egypt and North Africa. In partnership with the business, this role recommends which products to offer, their content and pricing, and when to bring them to market. It represents local market needs in AMEO and GMI/Export product decisions, guiding programs from early strategy through handover to Product Marketing. By combining market and competitor insight with cross-functional business cases, the role helps GM identify portfolio opportunities and make timely, evidence-based decisions.
What You’ll Do
•Build and maintain product strategies and lifecycle plans for assigned segments and markets, recommending portfolio additions, changes, streamlining or exits.
•Monitor competitor launches, pricing, trims, powertrains, content, incentives and distribution, and provide leadership with regular competitive updates.
•Benchmark GM products against key competitors and conduct country- and segment-level portfolio gap analyses to prioritize opportunities by volume and share potential.
•Develop and evaluate counter-positioning options, including content, pricing, trim, timing and new offers, with clear trade-offs and a recommended course of action.
•Partner with Finance, Sales & Distribution and Market Research to develop business cases and test product, price and content choices against customer value, margin and volume potential.
•Represent market needs to GMI/Export, Homeroom, Joint Venture and AMEO teams, and prepare and advance studies, change requests and Notices of Decision through the appropriate forums.
•Coordinate with Product Marketing, Sales & Distribution, Quality and Homeroom/JV teams to keep launches on track, raise readiness risks early and resolve issues that could delay decisions or market delivery.
Your Skills & Abilities
•Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field.
•7 Years of experience in product planning, strategy, pricing or market analysis in the automotive industry or a related sector.
•Knowledge of the mobility landscape, including competitors and customer trends.
•Knowledge of Chinese OEM strategies and offers in GCC and African markets.
•Financial understanding of GM’s product business and the ability to build or contribute to product business cases.
•Cross-functional experience and the ability to align stakeholders around a common direction.
•Strong competitive analysis and data analysis skills, including proficiency in Excel.
•Ability to prioritize competing tasks and adapt quickly to market developments.
•Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly and persuasively.
•Demonstrated facilitation, negotiation, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to set clear objectives, drive timely decisions and hold stakeholders accountable for agreed actions.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge
•International experience, including working effectively across cultures.
•Understanding of GM products and brand positioning in the region.
•Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance or a closely related discipline.
•Experience using business intelligence tools alongside Excel for competitive and market analysis.
•Demonstrated strengths in market acumen, customer orientation, data judgment and analytical thinking.
•A track record of results-focused execution, learning agility, investigative problem-solving and professional courage.
•Strong company acumen, including familiarity with GM’s organization and product-planning processes.
