Mirendil is a tech-first company focused on solving core bottlenecks that unlock step-change acceleration across science and technology. Our first goal is to democratize frontier AI R&D across scientific disciplines. We are building a frontier AI research company and training our own models end-to-end.
THE ROLE
We’re making large compute commitments, deploying substantial capital and starting to bill our first enterprise customers. As our first internal finance hire, you’ll own financial planning and execution, working closely with business leadership and the founders.
This is a hands-on role with finance as your defining strength, responsibility for vendors and commercial agreements, and flexibility to take on selected internal operations.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
•Own financial planning and cash management. Build budgets and forecasts, track spending and contractual commitments, manage liquidity and establish practical financial controls.
•Connect compute and commercial economics. Model research spending, customer delivery costs and infrastructure investments. Support pricing, margin analysis and major compute decisions.
•Evaluate and execute financing. Assess debt and compute ownership versus rental, evaluate proposals, coordinate lenders and advisers, and manage financing obligations.
•Run billing and collections. Establish customer credit and payment terms with the commercial team, ensure accurate invoicing and manage receivables exposure.
•Manage reporting and external finance providers. Oversee accountants and controllers, financial reporting, tax coordination and audit preparation. Maintain financial oversight of payroll and prepare leadership, investor and board reporting.
•Own vendors and commercial contracts. Manage vendor selection, onboarding, performance and renewals. Review and negotiate vendor and customer terms, coordinate with counsel and track contractual obligations.
•Flex across internal operations. Improve tools, approvals and workflows. Partner with People and Operations on payroll, benefits and HR administration processes, and coordinate compliance tasks with specialists.
WHAT YOU BRING
•Strong financial training and a record of excellence. Typically 6+ years across investment banking, private equity, other investing or strategic finance. Experience at a leading financial institution and at a growing technology company is particularly relevant.
•Hands-on operating or entrepreneurial experience. Experience as a founder, finance leader or operator in a growing company is strongly preferred.
•Excellent modeling and accounting fundamentals. You can build operating models and cash forecasts, interpret financial statements, assess financing and contract economics, and effectively oversee external accountants.
•Commercial and financing judgment. Experience with financing transactions, capital investment, pricing and significant commercial agreements. You are comfortable working through terms in detail, negotiating business issues and working with lenders, counsel and other specialists.
PARTICULARLY USEFUL EXPERIENCE
•Debt, credit, equipment or asset financing.
•AI infrastructure, cloud services or other businesses with substantial capital commitments.
•Usage-based pricing, customer credit and collections, procurement or commercial contract negotiations.
We offer a base salary of 250,000 - 350,000 USD and a meaningful equity grant, depending on experience and background, along with competitive benefits.
