THE ROLE

You build and own fonio’s data foundation, from raw data to models. You bring data from our own systems and third-party tools together in one warehouse and build the models the business runs on, starting with CLTV. You make data easy for anyone in the company to use, and you make sure everyone gets the same answer.

WHAT TO EXPECT

•Data warehouse: Set up and run the warehouse (e.g. Snowflake) with off-the-shelf tools. Buy the plumbing, build the models.

•Pipelines: Build and maintain ETL and reverse-ETL pipelines with cost-effective tools (e.g. Weld over Fivetran).

•Modelling layer: Own the modelling layer in dbt (or similar) and automate as much as possible.

•Core models: Start with a cohort-based CLTV model, then build other core models such as retention and payback.

•Metric definitions: Define key metrics (CAC, CLTV, churn, activation) once and document them as the single source of truth.

•Self-serve access: Open the warehouse so anyone can query it and build dashboards with Claude, with the right access controls in place.

•Data quality: Set up data tests and monitoring so people can trust the numbers.

•Stakeholders: Work closely with the founders and the marketing team to turn business questions into models.

WHAT YOU BRING

•3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake.

•Experience with ETL and reverse-ETL tools.

•Strong SQL and dbt skills.

•Comfortable doing both the engineering and the modelling.

•Highly driven: you own things end to end and move fast without waiting for a team around you.

•You’d rather automate a task than do it by hand twice.
