Job description
GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.
Key Responsibilities
•Prepare monthly journal entries, including intercompany activity
•Support accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
•Prepare and review monthly financial statements and financial reports
•Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
•Review AP and cash receipt activity for proper general ledger coding
•Coordinate grant revenue recognition, accruals, billing, and reporting
•Analyze financial results and investigate budget variances
•Assist with annual budgeting and internal and external audit schedules
•Partner with operational teams to resolve accounting and reporting questions
•Support capital project tracking and other accounting projects as needed
Qualifications
•Bachelor's degree with a concentration or significant coursework in Accounting
•3–5+ years of accounting experience with strong general ledger experience
•Strong Excel skills
•Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
•Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
•Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
•Self-starter who takes initiative and is eager to learn and grow
