The Role

Joining Moderna means advancing mRNA science to transform medicine. Work with exceptional global teams on a broad pipeline and build a career that makes a real difference for patients.

Moderna is strengthening its presence in Cambridge, Massachusetts, home to our global headquarters and a center of mRNA innovation. Working closely with leading universities and research institutions, our Cambridge team advances groundbreaking science that shapes the future of medicine. We welcome talent driven by innovation and committed to improving global health.

Moderna continues to expand its innovative mRNA platform into new diseases and therapeutic areas, and this individual contributor role will be central to shaping the commercial future of our oncology portfolio as we advance intismeran autogene in collaboration with Merck. You will help prepare for Moderna’s first commercial therapeutic launch in oncology, building strategy across marketed and potential indications in the US and EX-US while helping establish the foundations of Moderna’s oncology business. Reporting to the Vice President of Oncology Marketing, you will combine enterprise-level strategic leadership with hands-on execution, translating first-of-its-kind personalized cancer science into clear commercial choices and executable go-to-market strategies.

Here’s What You’ll Do

•Own the development of brand positioning, messaging, and competitive strategy for all lifecycle indications, helping establish a differentiated commercial narrative for intismeran autogene and its potential role across diverse tumor types.
•Shape and actualize the US and EX-US commercial strategy for the intismeran portfolio across marketed and potential indications, leading strategy for all indications outside adjuvant melanoma in close collaboration with our alliance partner.
•Oversee customer and market insight generation with our alliance partner through primary and secondary market research, competitive intelligence, advisory boards, and other sources of evidence that inform strategic decision-making.
•Establish a multi-year strategic roadmap spanning marketed products and pipeline indications, ensuring lifecycle opportunities are translated into sequenced commercial priorities and clear execution plans.
•Lead scenario planning, risk management, and contingency strategy for future launches, including the integration of commercial forecasting and supply chain coordination.
•Shape prioritization, resource allocation, and investment planning across future commercial opportunities, bringing a business owner’s mindset to decisions supporting the growth of a potential blockbuster brand based on first-of-its-kind technology and science.
•Translate commercial strategy, evolving product profiles, clinical evidence, and Moderna’s scientific platforms into clear, actionable, and easily executable go-to-market strategies.
•Lead select strategic initiatives across the brand in both the US and EX-US, operating with the dynamic range to move seamlessly between long-term strategy development and detailed execution.
•Partner closely with Sales, Commercial Operations, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Market Access and Value Creation, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, and other critical members of the oncology ecosystem, including our alliance partner, to deliver against the ambition for the brand.
•Identify capability-development opportunities within Sales and the broader commercial organization and develop the tools, resources, and approaches required to strengthen team skills and readiness for future indications and launches.
•Help build the commercial foundations required for Moderna’s expansion into cancer therapeutics, contributing to the launch of a pioneering personalized mRNA oncology program designed around each patient’s unique tumor profile.
•Bring a highly collaborative, roll-your-sleeves-up leadership style suited to a rapidly growing biotech environment, balancing high-visibility strategic leadership with direct ownership of critical work.
•Explore opportunities to use Generative AI and other emerging digital tools to accelerate insight synthesis, scenario development, competitive assessment, content development, and commercial decision-making, while operating within appropriate governance and compliance frameworks.

The key Moderna Mindsets you’ll need to succeed in the role:

•“We behave like owners. The solutions we’re building go beyond any job description.”

•Proven leadership of multiple oncology brands or franchises with significant US Oncology commercialization experience
