Location: Pancras Square, London
Introduction to the role:
Reporting to UK Oncology Business Insights and Analytics lead The Breast Cancer Business Insights Manager is a strategic thought partner to the UK Breast Cancer Franchise. The role integrates forecasting, performance analytics, market research, customer insight and external intelligence to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions and shape evidence-based strategic and operational decisions across the current and future portfolio.
The role creates a single, forward-looking view of business performance, risks and opportunities, translating complex data-sets into clear recommendations that improve strategic choices, investment prioritisation and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with franchise and cross-functional leaders to define the most important business questions. Integrate data from multiple sources, challenge assumptions and translate findings into clear recommendations that shape brand and franchise strategy, investment choices and execution.
Combine quantitative and qualitative data—including performance data, forecasting, market research, customer insights and access dynamics—to build a coherent view of performance drivers, unmet needs, risks and growth opportunities.
Lead robust, epidemiology-led indication demand forecasts and scenario planning. Align assumptions across functions, assess uncertainty, opportunities and risks, and provide decision-ready recommendations for prioritisation, resource allocation and medium-range planning.
Establish a clear view of performance against strategy, identify emerging trends and root causes, and enable timely course correction. Support franchise and brand planning by evaluating strategic options and monitoring whether plans deliver the intended outcomes.
Identify evidence gaps and design high-quality market research for the current and future Breast Cancer portfolio. Translate customer, patient and NHS stakeholder insight into implications for strategy and operational plans.
Build trusted partnerships across Commercial, Medical and other relevant functions. Align stakeholders around shared business questions, facilitate constructive challenge, connect UK needs with alliance, regional and global expertise, and influence decisions without formal authority.
Communicate compelling, accessible narratives to senior leaders and cross-functional teams. Ensure insights are understood, adopted and translated into measurable action, and capture learning to strengthen future decisions.
Apply fit-for-purpose analytics, visualisation, AI and automation to improve the speed, quality, scalability and accessibility of insight generation. Explore new data sources and methods while maintaining appropriate governance, transparency and human judgement.
Promote clear definitions, consistent assumptions and strong data quality across insight and forecasting activities. Ensure all work complies with AstraZeneca policies, SOPs, the Code of Conduct and relevant data governance requirements.
Contribute actively to delivery of business unit objectives, including sales, contribution and P&L goals, by identifying opportunities and risks early and enabling high-quality, evidence-based decisions.
